The school has many good resources with regard to careers, including computer access to key software and websites and a number of other sources of information. A series of careers lessons is offered to Year 12 and a week of work experience is arranged through the school.
A member of the local careers service regularly attends the school in order to counsel students with regard to their work options.
Students wishing to go to university start the UCAS process in year 12. Following the AS exam period, representatives of the universities visit the school with information about selection and on how to complete the UCAS forms. We are running "Apply" and the Head of Sixth Form will introduce this system to the students, which uses computers and the internet to fill online forms. We hope that all forms will be completed by the first half term of Year 13, in order to send these to UCAS promptly - by the end of October.
In addition to this, the school will organize an evening in July for parents in order to explain the process of making an application to university.
