Our school has decided to become a part of the Eco-Schools.  We intend to improve many different elements in and around the school:-

  1. Reduce waste
  2. Energy
  3. Litter
  4. The school site
  5. Eating healthy
  6. Global citizenship
  7. Water

This year our school has decided to focus on three main elements:-

  • Reduce waste
  • Litter
  • Energy usage

Already the school has won the bronze award and is working hard to obtain the silver award before long.

An eco-council has been created and meets every Monday week 1 in room 54.  The council discusses long and short term goals, and reviews progress made by the school and council.  The meetings are open to all pupils, teachers and staff who want to help improve the school and suggest ways of doing so.

Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda Eco-code:

Our aim as a school is to respect each other and the school's resources.  We as a school want to reduce litter and make efficient use of school resources.  We must take responsibility as people of this earth to live sustainably and help our peers to do so.
