Congratulations to the Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda public speaking team on its outstanding success at the recent final of the Rotary’s public speaking competition. This is the 7th time in 10 years that the school has won this prestigious competition. The final was held in Cardiff Bay, where 8 welsh medium schools from across Wales took part. This year’s team consisted of Year 10 students Jenni Page and Daisy Norton and Evie Connolly of Year 11. Our sincere thanks go to them for their commitment and hard work. Well done girls!

Congratulations to talented ice skater, Cailin Evans of Year 10 on being chosen to star in the Cardiff leg of the National " The Professionals On Ice" tour in October. This is a well-deserved accolade for Cailin who trains three times a week at Cardiff ice rink. We are very proud of you, Cailin!

On Friday the 16th of October a Tag Rugby event was organised by our Rugby Development Officer, Ben Daniels. All 6 Welsh language Primary Schools from the Rhondda Valley were invited to compete and the event was a great opportunity for year 5 and 6 pupils’ to display skills on the field. Many thanks to all schools for supporting this event and congratulations to all teams who competed.

Congratulations to Dione Rose, our Deputy Head Prefect, who has been selected as a Miss Wales 2016 finalist for team RCT!
