Cymer Supports British Heart Foundation
A fantastic £830.47 was raised on Friday 6.2.15 as Cymer pupils and staff wore red and baked and sold cakes, raising money for the British Heart Foundation. Well done everybody!
Gender Equality Project
Year 9 pupils had the opportunity recently to work with an expert from “Full Circle” on an exciting project to raise awareness of issues relating to gender equality. The pupils will soon be launching a campaign of their own with in the school to spread the message to pupils of all ages.
South Wales Football

Many congratulations to our first team on winning the Rhondda District Tournament on Wednesday 28th of January. The team performed exceptionally well, securing a place in the final, where they defeated a strong Ferndale side 9-3. Congratulations on an excellent victory!
Cymer working in partnership with the British School Al Khubairat, Abu Dhabi
We were pleased to welcome Mr Gary Craney from the British School in Abu Dhabi who spent two days with the ICT and Computer Science department this week. The aim of the visit was to share good practice and exchange ideas around the development of ICT and Computer Science within the curriculum. Mr Wicks said "It was great news for the school to not only have regional partnerships but also work with schools from all over the globe."
Duke of Edinburgh Award
Our warmest congratulations to Ffion Day, Sophie Gilder, Imogene Cousins, Elis Macmillan and Alex Jones of Year 11 on completing a walk to Maerdy Reservoir as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. The brave 5 also raised £200 for Cancer Research UK in the process. Ardderchog!
