Congratulations go to Year 9 pupil Stephanie Keirle on her recent victory at the Glamorgan County schools athletics championships, where she won the shot putt competition against competitors from 42 different schools. Fellow pupils Seren Wenham and Ffion Kelland must also be commended on their level of performance, finishing 3rd in the 100m and the javelin events respectively. Well done girls and all who represented the school!

Congratulations to Year 9 pupil Cei Evans on winning first place at the prestigious Noiya Jam Skating competition held during Whitsun in Sheffield!

Year 12 students Dafydd Carter, Cerys Evans, Kian John and Courtney Philips attended the annual Oxford & Cambridge Student Conference at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea. These conferences are designed to provide up-to-date information on the application and admissions procedure at both institutions as well as providing an insight into student life.

Many congratulations to Kian John on his successful application to the Physics Sutton Trust Summer School. Kian has been awarded a place at the prestigious St Johns College, Cambridge from the 20th - 24th July.

Year 13 attend their final school assembly before commencing on their A level examinations. A final opportunity for the year group to convene and reflect on their time at Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda. We wish every student every success in their preparations for the forthcoming exams and look forward to celebrating their success on the 13th August.

Congratulations to YGG Bronllwyn on winning the Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda Cluster Schools 7-a-side Rugby competition. On a sunny day at Cymer, the 5 Primary Schools of the cluster competed enthusiastically.
