We were very pleased to be able to welcome all Year 5 pupils and their families to our annual Open Evening, held on May 10th. The evening was an opportunity for pupils and parents to have a taste of school life at Y Cymer and to meet with staff and pupils. We look forward to welcoming you all back to Cymer very soon!

We would like to wish every success to Year 10 pupil Kelsey Johns as she travels to London to represent Wales at the annual Sainsbury's School Games next week.

Year 11 pupil and extremely talented and dedicated swimmer Chloe Tutton is back at school, studying hard for her upcoming GCSE examinations.

We were very pleased to welcome members of our local community to the school during the Easter break. Organised by Communities First, a range of cookery workshops were held.

Many thanks to Mrs Llinos Rees, Head of R.E and Mr Aled Rees, Head of Science for organising a very successful study weekend to Tresaith, West Wales, recently. As well as attending some valuable revision workshops, the students were able to make the most of the wonderful sunshine on the beach!

It's been a very busy term for Siôn Owen, one of Ysgol y Cymer's key workers. The pictures below capture a variety of activities undertaken by Cymer pupils as part of the ‘Building the Future Together' initiative.

Cymer Sixth Form pupils were very privileged to meet with the Minister for Education, Mr Leighton Andrews, during a recent visit to the Welsh Assembly building 'Y Senedd'.
