The time came to bid farewell to our Year 13 students on Friday, June 1st. As they begin the next chapter of their lives, we would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for every contribution to school life during the past seven years and wish them every success on their chosen paths. Diolch yn fawr i chi gyd.

Congratulations to Amelia Davies, Year 7, on being awarded the ‘Player of the Tournament’ title at a recent inter-schools Netball tournament. Well done!

The rugby season came to a fitting end as Cymer’s First XV reached the top of the East Division 2 League. The team includes a group of dedicated Year 13 pupils who have represented the school during the past seven years.

30 pupils form years 7, 8, 9,and 10 took part in a special Olympic Walk on May 17th. The determined pupils walked 9km, from Cymer to Ferndale. Well done everyone!

Warmest congratulations are extended to a group of Sixth Form students who took part in an Adventure Day at Dare Valley Park recently. The students also managed to raise £150 for the Tŷ Hafan charity. Well done girls!

Many congratulations to talented Year 8 athlete, Cole Swannack, on being nominated for the prestigious ‘Rhondda's Young Sports Personality of the Year'. A fantastic achievement and a deserving accolade - llongyfarchiadau Cole!

Warmest congratulations to Year 13 student Sarah Louise Jones, who has won a scholarship to study Theatre at The Atrium in Cardiff. Sarah is a talented and experienced actress and we would also like to take this opportunity to thank her for her many contributions to school life during her time at Y Cymer. We wish you every success Sarah.
