Many thanks to Year 12 students for arranging a very successful coffee morning on Friday 28th of September. £195 was raised for the charity. Diolch yn fawr!

A group of Year 7 pupils enjoyed a visit to Llwydcoed recently, to take part in an event organised by ‘Bright Sparks'. The pupils enjoyed many arts and crafts workshops, ranging from ragdoll making to card designing. Many thanks to Pastoral Support Worker, Mr Sion Owen, for organising the event.

Congratulations to Katie and Steffan Atherton on their recent success at a Welsh Karate League competition. Steffan claimed gold and sister Katie picked up a silver medal at the event. Llongyfarchiadau!

Warmest congratulations are extended to former student Sarah Louise Jones on being named regional winner in this year's ‘Student of the Year' awards ceremony, organised annually by Griffin Mill.

We extend a very warm welcome to all our new Year 7 pupils as they begin their school career with us at Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda.

Staff and pupils at Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda are celebrating once again following this year's GCSE results. The 121 pupils in Year 11 notched up the second best results of the last ten years! 38% of pupils were awarded at least 1 A* or A grade this year, with 94 of the top grades being awarded to our highest performing pupils.

Once again, Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda pupils have reaped the rewards of all their hard work after notching up yet more successful grades. 70% of all A-Level students secured at least 2 A*-C grades, leading to a 9 % increase on last year's grades.
