A group of Year 10 students, currently studying Health and Social Care at Y Cymer, recently took part in a project aimed at raising awareness of the reality of looking after a baby. The students cared for their ‘babies’ from Friday to Monday, and all were very relieved to hand them back on Monday morning!

A group of pupils spent an energetic weekend at the North Wales Urdd camp during the half term holiday.

Congratulations to our -13 Netball team on securing first place at the recent Rhondda tournament.

All pupils spent a nervous two hours watching the Wales v Australia third place play off in school this week. Two enormous screens were set up specially and the pupils, dressed in red, did their best to spur the team on. Even though the score line did not go in our favour, all pupils enjoyed the opportunity to support the boys! Well done Wales!

Following months of preparation, this year's much anticipated second Gala Concert was held in the school Hall last week.

This year, Sixth Form students have had the opportunity to study a brand new ‘Applied Science ‘ course, and as part of the course, a group of Year 12 students undertook some important field work recently.

We would like to wish two talented Year 10 pupils the very best in the upcoming Netball borough trials. Isabelle Davies, who also plays for Treharris and Kelsey Johns, a member of the Rhondda team, are both very valuable members of our school netball team. Pob hwyl i chi ferched!
