Cymer Sixth Form Travel to Pembrokeshire
A group of lucky Welsh AS and A Level students enjoyed a weekend in Pembrokeshire recently. The visited some of the county's most famous landmarks, such as Pentref Ifan and the famous Welsh poet, Waldo Williams' grave.
Urdd Success
Many congratulations to all pupils who competed in this year's Eisteddfod Sir, held last week. The school will be represented in a fantastic 22 competitions in this year's Eisteddfod Genedlaethol, to be held in June during Whitsun week.
Maths Fun
28 lucky Year 11 pupils had the opportunity to spend a day at The Vale Hotel during the weekend. The day was organised by The Mathematics Department and the pupils spent time working in groups and with staff members preparing and revising for the upcoming GCSE examinations.

Science Week
Celebrating all things scientific, the Science Department organised a Science Week recently. A Science Fair was held and pupils had the opportunity to take part in a variety of scientific experiments, including slime making and creating lava lamps.
Caught On Camera
A group of lucky Year 8 pupils, all members of the PUPIL scheme, had a chance to shadow PCSO Dai Hughes as he operated a speed camera on the streets of Trebanog recently.
Cymer Team Take On Britain's Best
The school's history in past Rotary Youth Speaks competitions is second to none. Four times British semi-finalists, the school is very grateful to Rhondda Rotary for organising the first leg of the competition, which saw the Cymer team claim first prize after competing against Porth Community School and Treorchy Comprehensive.
