Staff and pupils at Y Cymer welcomed our cluster's Year 6 pupils to the school recently. The pupils spent time experiencing a busy and fun-packed day, which included key-ring designing and pizza making!

An adventurous group of Year 10 students took part in a two day adventure activity recently as part of their preparations for the Duke of Edinburgh Challenge Award.

We were very pleased to receive the fantastic news that Year 10 pupil and star swimmer, Chloe Tutton, has been chosen to represent Team GB in this year's European Junior Championships, to be held in Belgrade, Serbia at the beginning of July.

Many congratulations to our Year 7 Rugby Team - winners of the 2011 Rhondda Schools Touch Rugby Tournament!

Many thanks to all Year 7 pupils who have been busy collecting money for the charity Bangla Cymru, that aims to help children in Bangladesh.

Year 7 pupils have been busy organising a sponsored work out in order to raise money for a charity close to our hearts at Cymer, Bangla Cymru.

Congratulations to Year 7 Cole Swannack who recently competed in the Welsh Regional Championships at Cardiff International Stadium, winning the gold medal in the 800m and breaking the championship record which has stood for 6 years.
