Sunday, March 24, 2019

Students from Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda recently took part in a Model National Assembly for Wales in Tŷ Hywel, Cardiff Bay on Wednesday 5th May, as a part of CEWC Cymru's citizenship programme.

Year 7 pupils have been busy over the past few weeks designing and buliding bridges as part of their Level 1 Working with Others and Problem Solving accreditation.

Last Choir Standing

Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda's School Choir were once again announced winners in the Rhondda Fach's Last Choir Standing competition after competing against Porth County and Tonypandy Community College.

Congratulations to Rhys Johnson Yr 11 on winning the competition to design our eco-school's logo.

Three members of our sixth form completed a 6 mile run in under an hour on Sunday 21st March. Big congratulations to Craig Williams, Connor Sampson, and James Tomkinson for showing how fit they are, and to Miss Rhian Davies for ensuring the opportunity and support.

Skiing Trip

Cymer pupils and staff enjoyed a very successful trip to Mont Tremblant, Canada over the Easter holidays. Weather conditions were perfect and all members of the party thoroughly enjoyed. Once again, Cymer pupils were excellent ambassadors for their school and the valley.

Two of the speakers

Huge congratulations to the school's Public Speaking team who represented the school and Wales in the Rotary Club's British Semi Final Public Speaking Competition.
