Staff and pupils would like to wish the very best of luck to every pupil competing in the National Urdd Eisteddfod, to be held near Aberaeron over half term. Cymer will be represented in a staggering 23 competitions, with over 100 pupils competing. Many thanks to all for thir hard work preparing over the past few weeks and GOOD LUCK to you all!

Year 10 pupil Declan Dalley, from Treherbert, will be facing his biggest challenge on the football pitch this weekend as he captains his country for the first time in the Under 16 category.

Congratulations to Sioned Rees on being chosen to represent our school in this years' RCT Student of the Year Competition sponsored by Griffin Mill.

Congratulations to the girls from years 7&8 who participated in the Urdd's National 7 a side Football Tournament. Following a long journey up to Aberystwyth at dawn, the girls showed vast amounts of energy against teams from all over Wales.

We would like to wish all our Year 11, 12 and Year 13 students the very best of luck as they embark on their GCSE and A-Level examinations. We are confident that they will reap the rewards of their hard work in the summer. Staff members and all pupils are very proud of the commitment shown by these students to their studies and we wish them every success. Pob lwc i chi gyd!

The sporting accolades keep on coming for Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda's talented Year 11 boys. This time the talented football team beat Tonypandy Community College in the final of this year's Rhondda and Pontypridd District Cup.

With over 800 pupils and staff making their way to The Brewery Field Bridgend to support the team, the scene was set for a truly remarkable day in the history of Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhondda. The event would see Cymer emerge as the Powerade Welsh Schools' Cup Champions at both under 14 and under 16 level.
