Staff at Cymer would like to thank all our pupils and parents for their hard work and support during the year, and wish them all a very happy and safe Summer holiday. We look forward to welcoming you back in September!

Cymer opened its doors and welcomed Year 1 and 2 pupils from our local primary school, Cymmer Infants recently to entertain a hall full of parents.

We were very proud to welcome a Welsh speaking family from Patagonia to our school recently. The school choir and dramatic group entertained Rhona and her family who, like us at Cymer, are very proud of their Welsh heritage.

Our annual cluster football tournament was held recently. The tournament, organised by Mr Gwyn and some of our Sixth Form pupils was held at Tylorstown Leisure Centre and after much enthusiastic competition, Ysgol Llwyncelyn rose to the top, taking the cup home for the third time. Congratulations!

As always at the end of the Summer Term, Awards Ceremonies were held in order to celebrate the many achievements of our pupils in all fields - from academic studies to the rugby field and ths stage.

Massive congratulations to year 10 & 12 pupils who completed their training for the Duke of Edinburgh Award over the weekend (3-5th July).

Huge congratulations to Katie Rumble in passing her theory driving test - and through the medium of Welsh!. Katie was the first to do so at the Test Centre in Merthyr Tydfil. Excellent Katie! Katie is a student-governor at Cymer, and is very active in all aspects of school life.
